Enriching the Curriculum

"My child was at another school but since going to Eden Park she has come on in leaps and bounds. A Fantastic school." (Parent Survey, 2020)

"Our son is so happy at school, he loves Eden Park. He’s been there since he used to be in tadpoles and still loves it. His teacher this year is so lovely and supportive." (Parent survey comment, 2022)

At Eden Park, we believe that the curriculum is ALL a school offers both in and beyond the classroom. We are passionate that this is part of curriculum entitlement and that all children should be able to access these opportunities and that, wherever possible, they take place in the school day. These opportunities are free or subsidised and so children are not limited to attend due to their own circumstances; it is a true entitlement for all.

Weekly Enrichment

We start with the principle that all children attend enrichment.  We value the personal development that an enriched curriculum brings so widely, we give it weekly “curriculum time,” offering the children in Key Stage One and Two consistent and regular access, delivered by staff experts and enthusiasts. There are no restrictions on cost (they are all free) or ability. We use Enrichment to enhance, encourage, support and promote hobbies, skills and interests and so improve the personal development of all children.

The activities will offer a wide and varied range of opportunities and these can take many forms; they may at one time include enrichment activities such as additional sport, (e.g. volleyball) creative arts, (e.g. dance, singing or clay) curriculum enhancements, (e.g. maths challenges, creative writing sessions or coding) as well as activities not normally associated with a standard curriculum (e.g. yoga, wellbeing or sea-school!).

Enrichment beach trip.

"A fantastic school, with fabulous teachers. Thank you all for working as hard as you all do." (Parent Survey, 2019)

"I cannot be more thankful to the staff who have done so much to ensure that the children are happy." (Parent Survey, 2020)
