Wellbeing
Academic progress is important but it is not the main drive of our work here. We look to develop the whole individual and this starts with their wellbeing.
Wellbeing is one of our 5 core values. The children know this as the character Willow Wellbeing. Through assemblies, PSHE lessons and daily interactions they learn about the following characteristics to help with wellbeing:
- Let yourself be inspired.
- Learn to inspire others.
- Learn to lose well and to win graciously.
- Relax.
- Share with others.
- Reflect on your actions.
- Be peaceful.
- Empathise with others.
- Treat others as you wish to be treated.
- Listen to your conscience.
Here we do small things that can make the difference - a simple smile, a compliment, common courtesy and recognition of small acts are just some of these.
For those who need a little further support we have our dedicated pastoral team who work alongside those in need of both shorter and longer term interventions. Parents and carers are also encouraged to pop-in and see Mrs Stephens in the cabin for any support they may need, as she is a wealth of knowledge and knows the local services that may be able to help.
Teachers and the school Senior Leadership Team also have their doors open and welcome conversations that will help improve the wellbeing of those in our school and wider community.
